RIAI Simon Open Door 2009
We at MBA are delighted to have participated in the Fifth RIAI Simon Open Door event, helping to raise over €40,000 for the Simon Communities of Ireland. We wish to thank all the participants who attended the consultations at our Letterkenny office and for their contributions to the Simon Community.
Simon has a vision of society where no one is homeless. All people who are homeless, or at risk of facing homelessness are given every opportunity to realise their potential to live fulfilled lives in appropriate homes of their own.
Gairmscoil Mhic Diarmada, Arainn Mhor
MBA Architects have been appointed by County Donegal VEC as architects to design the new extension to Gairmscoil MhicDiarmada on Aranmore Island. The project consists of the provision of three new permanent classrooms to the school on this stunning island location. Works are programmed to commence during the summer months with handover scheduled for 01st September 2009. Watch this space!…..
MBA Golf Day
MBA Architects and Surveyors held its inaugural Golf Day on Friday 26th September 2008.
The event was a resounding success starting off at the Letterkenny office with breakfast rolls and refreshments and a coach to take all participants to Narin & Portnoo Golf Club. The weather was excellent throughout the day and all participants were very pleased with the day. A meal was organised for after the event at the Highlands Hotel in Glenties.
MBA Architects and Surveyors would like to thank all who took part in the event and making the day memorable. Gratitude is also extended to the Narin & Portnoo Golf Club, The Highlands Hotel, The Sandwich Company and the Michael Friel Coaches for providing their services and making the day possible.
European Hotel Design Awards 2004
MBA were delighted to be selected as a finalist for the 2004 European Hotel Design Awards for our work on the Radisson SAS Hotel, Letterkenny. This is a tremendous honour to have our work recognised at this level, with the hotel being exhibited alongside some of the top design names in Europe. The awards event and dinner took place in London on 25th October 2004 and the judges for the event included Sir Terence Conran, Paul Finch, editor of the AJ and Graham Boynton of the Daily Telegraph. The hotel is just opened a year, so this is a great birthday present not only for us as the project architects, but for everyone involved, including of course the Byrne family who own the hotel.
